DAN I have been in the Fitness Industry for over 10 years now and in that time have acquired a wealth of knowledge and experience. Having always promoted the importance of a healthy lifestyle and active life, it became a priority after a serious back injury in 2002. I qualified as a personal trainer in London, 2005 and now also hold a Cert 3 and 4 Personal Trainer award in Australia. Achieving and maintaining a high level of fitness has always been paramount to me. Life is about working hard and maintaining belief and focus in order to achieve. It is these achievements that we continually reflect on during difficult times to give us strength to suceed. Having a positive mental attitude in order to complete a workout will lead to a positive mental attitude in everything you do, be it personal or professional. With my main focus being strength and conditioning, I'm an advocate of focusing on tried and tested exercises using basic principles and using your own body weight. I believe with determination , the majority of people can master a repertoire of key exercises which will unlock the door to more complex movements and therefore a balanced body. I've trained for over 8 years in Wing Chun Kung Fu in the UK, Hong Kong and now Australia. Wing Chun is a practical street self defence system that focuses on scientific principles of energy and power distribution and less on 'brute force'. With many health benefits, Wing Chun is suitable for all ages, body types and temperaments. My pursuit of understanding in this system has given me the tools to apply to other areas of my life with great success Outside of work, I am kept busy by my two little boys, who are the joy and a challenge rolled into one! Registration with Fitness Australia is compulsory at Body Mechanix, my registration is current to 2012 and you can find me on the Fitness Australia website. www.fitness.org.au
